The
Acme Building was built in 1947 by developer, William “Heine” Fluhreer
and contractor, Marshall O. Bessonette. The first floor was occupied
by Pittsburgh Plate Glass & Paint. The second floor was a storage
area, but in 1954, it became home to the Rogue Boxing Association,
which promoted amateur boxing. Over the years, the building has hosted
many businesses, including the Medford Beauty School and most recently,
the Medford Antique mall, which occupied the first floor and basement.
Now fully-remodeled, the Acme Suites building houses upscale furnished
suites and corporate housing.
